A would-be burglar wasted several minutes while breaking into a Chicago bar because he made the mistake of trying to pull a door open when there was a sign that clearly reads “Push.”

It was all caught on surveillance footage at The Shambles’ winter vestibule, a temporary covering in front of the bar, where he was protected from view. He then removed the bar’s front door lock early Friday morning.

The hooded criminal is seen in the video pulling on the door at approximately 2:08 a.m. and was able to knock a security door brace loose.

Even though the burglar managed to get past the brace, he lacked the sense to try and pull the door open. He eventually gave up and fled.

"It's much funnier on the video, but the still shots show him pulling on the door. He could have pushed it," Joe Lin, the bar's owner, told DNA Info in Chicago.

Lin says the suspect had tools and was prepared, but something simple stopped him.

"I don't know if he realized there was a security stick on there, because yeah, he did get confused, because he's like, 'I dismantled a lock, I should be able to get in. Why is this not working?'" Lin told ABC News Chicago.

"The gall of him breaking in in broad daylight. It's light out, people are jogging by. I want to let other businesses know," Lin added.

The suspect is still at large and police are investigating numerous other attempted break-ins in the area.

A woman was denied the right to breastfeed her son at a Victoria’s Secret store in Texas on Monday. Instead, the mother of a 4-month-old hungry baby was told to go into an alley.

Ashley Clawson spent $150 dollars at the Victoria’s Secret Domain store location and asked a salesperson if she could use one of the fitting rooms to breastfeed. She says the employee “said no, you cannot nurse your son in out fitting room but you can go outside to the alley and nurse him there, no one usually goes there.”

“I don’t even know what alley she was thinking about. I didn’t explore it,” the shocked mother told My Fox 7. “Obviously if you’ve been around a baby once they start crying there is no going back.”

She filed two complaints before “being told she would be receiving something in the mail,” according to the station.

Victoria’s Secret issued the following statement regarding the incident:

“We take this issue very seriously. We have a longstanding policy permitting mothers to nurse their children in our stores and we are sorry that it was not followed in this case. We have apologized to Ms. Clawson, and we are taking actions to ensure all associates understand our policy that welcomes mother to breastfeed in our stores.”

Clawson went on Facebook to write about the incident. While she has received a lot of support, there have been a few critics.

“For anyone that thinks this was staged, is absolutely ridiculous. I have much more to do than take my son to VS with me on a Monday and hope they deny me the right to breastfeed. However, if I actually would have thought up that story, I might just be a genius,” she wrote Thursday on her Facebook page.

This isn’t the first time Victoria’s Secret has come under fire for denying mothers the right to breastfeed in their stores.

In 2006, a Wisconsin mother was told to use the employee restroom. The company’s spokesperson at the time, Anthony Hebron, said Victoria’s Secret has a “long standing policy of allowing mothers to breastfeed in their stores.”

LANSING, Mich. – On January 9, Michigan Republican National Committeeman Dave Agema gave the world yet more evidence of his bigotry. Posted on Facebook, his query was this time directed at Muslims: “Have you ever seen a Muslim do anything that contributes positively to the American way of life?”

He followed the question with an anonymous blog post that highlights the work of the Catholic church and questions the contribution of Muslims in America. Agema urged readers that “even if you’re not Catholic you may find this eye opening.”

Responses from a wide array of people, many of them fellow Republicans, have shot back at Agema, effectively shaming his bigoted viewpoints.

“My Muslim father,” wrote Republican political consultant Joe Munem, “an internationally published author, 52 year math professor, business owner and gentleman farmer has done far more to contribute positively to the American way of life than you ever will.”

“When you spew stupid words about all Muslims, you attack my friends and members of our Party. Shame on you. Shame,” wrote Dan Pero, chief of staff to former Republican Gov. John Engler.

Agema’s disdain has been publicly directed at other groups, too. Recently, he made “inflammatory and inaccurate” statements about the gay community on not only Facebook, but also on a conservative radio station and at a holiday party. In one remark, he compared gays to alcoholics, and has stated that “gay people want free medical care because they have AIDS.”

After Agema’s comments on the radio show, State Republican Frank Foster stated, “Refuting everything Dave Agema said that was moronic…it would take up most of our time.”

Notably, while prominent Republicans “rebuked his statements”, none of them called for his resignation.

Agema, whose presence on the RNC has been referred to as “an embarrassment,” has served as a committeeman since 2012, and is scheduled to do so until 2016. Party rules do not allow for his removal from the post.

Here’s a better question for Agema to be asking himself: how does he see his own comments, posts and ideas as contributing positively to anything?

A German Shepherd attends Mass almost every day. Each time, he sits by the altar and waits.

The church was the last place he saw his owner before she died.

Tommy, the 12-year-old loyal dog, has been attending church for two months, in hopes of seeing his owner, Maria, again.

As seen in the pictures below, Tommy waits for his owner to come back, but it is to no avail. Still, the dog sits patiently and quietly.

“When the bells of the Santa Maria Assunta church begin to toll each afternoon in San Donaci near Brindisi, the 12-year-old German Shepherd sets off from the village to get himself a front row seat next to the altar,” according to the Il Messaggero newspaper.

Tommy previously lived with three other rescue dogs. The dogs, who used to follow their owner Maria everywhere, have now been adopted by the village, according to Pawnnation.

A new poll shows that 23 percent of Americans do not believe in man-made climate change, despite overwhelming science.

The survey, conducted in November and early December 2013, also showed that 63 percent of Americans do believe in global warming, but only 53 percent are worried about the consequences.

The "don't know" category dropped 6 points between April and November 2013 and went to the "not happening" category.

"People who prior said don’t know are increasingly saying they don't believe it," Anthony Leiserowitz, of the Yale Project on Climate Change Communication, which conducted the poll, told Live Science.

"Media frames can be really important in shaping the way people interpret the news," added Leiserowitz.

There have been numerous reports on Fox News, Drudge Report and other conservative media outlets that global warming could not possibly be happening because there were very cold temperatures this winter.

However, scientists say the cold weather in the US was caused by a "polar vortex," which is when Arctic air shifts from the North Pole downwards. Another polar vortex is expected this month, notes The Washington Post.

Global warming deniers in conservative media also failed to mention the scorching temperatures in Australia where it is currently summer.

According to Mother Jones, tennis matches had to be suspended at the Australian Open where temperatures hit 109 degrees and some players had to be iced down.

Some addictions are surprising; others are startling. This one might be altogether alarming.

On the show “My Strange Addiction”, 22-year-old Keyshia revealed that she is addicted to sucking on diapers. And not just any diapers – dirty diapers.

“It has to have pee in it,” she has said. “The heavier ones that have more pee smell better.”

In the last two years, she has sniffed, snacked, and slurped her way through some 25,000 dirty diapers.

The show, which premiered on January 15, is sure to expose even more unexpected details. Her fiancé, Jerome, has described the extreme measures she’ll go to get her fix. “She’s even willing to dig in the garbage,” he has said.

News of her addiction has paved the way for a multitude of questions. Where, for example, has she gotten all these dirty diapers? And, seeing as diapers are far from inexpensive, how much has the habit cost her?

One is also left to wonder how snacking on all these diapers has affected her health.

Many of today's college graduates are likely to be employed in jobs that don't require a college degree, pay small salaries and are part time, according to a new study.

Research by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York claims that 44 percent of recent college grads were working jobs that did not require an undergraduate degree in 2012.

According to ThinkProgress.org, jobs (electricians, dental hygienists, mechanics) that do not require a college degree, actually pay more than the jobs these college grads are landing.

One sector of America that is facing a staffing shortage of applicants are police departments.

Layoffs, hiring freezes, furloughs and reductions to salaries and benefits have contributed to the staff shortage, reports Police Chief Magazine.

Besides the economic factors, many police departments don't want college graduates to even apply.

Apparently, this is because college grads look at joining police forces and SWAT teams as a temporary stepping stone to build their resumes.

This topic was recently discussed at the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) at the annual National Shooting Sports Foundation’s SHOT Show, which took place in Las Vegas this month, notes BreitBart.com.

“Instead of having 20 people staying there 20 years, you have people stay there five to seven years,” stated Captain Ed Allen, NTOA Eastern Region Director and Instructor.

Another problem is that most college graduates don't share a hunger for violence.

“What’s gone is police departments looking for the defenseman on the hockey team, the rough guy who can prepare to visit violence [on] a bad guy who would do us harm," stated one police officer. "[He is replaced by] the university graduate who comes with his entitled attitude."

Another police officer added, "We got lawyers. We got Ph.Ds. We got everything but police officers. They can’t clear a corner. You tell them, 'Get out of the squad car and go clear the corner;' but they can recite to you a formula, Starling’s law for cardiac help or something."

Daytona Beach, Fla. law enforcement training specialist David Agata told BreitBart.com, “The challenge is we got a mindset that says, 'I don’t need to pay the price to get to where I need to go,' or they really don’t understand the job that they really have to do. Why? Because they haven’t done their homework."

Writer and stand-up comedian Chris Illuminati found a humorous way to deal with being a full-time stay-at-home dad: write Post-it notes.

The New Jersey writer quit his job on May 19, 2010 to take care of his newly born son Evan, who is now almost four.

When he first started out on his endeavor, Illuminati jotted down what he needed to remember on one Post-it not as a joke: "Feed baby, change baby, don't feed baby to the cat, etc."

“As a reminder of everything going on with my writing, I leave Post-It Notes around my office as reminders,” Illuminati said. “I decided to incorporate those same organizational principles while watching my son.”

Soon, Illuminati was leaving Post-it notes all around the house, chronicling the daily endeavors of raising a child with his wife. He also writes them to remind himself of what to do, and sometimes more importantly, what not to do when raising children.

"I thought it would be funny to write wise-ass (can I say that?) things on them," Illuminati explained to The Huffington Post via e-mail.

The 36-year-old started posting the Post-its on his Tumblr, Message With A Bottle.

He now has many thousands of fans also following along on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, mostly fellow parents who share Illuminati's experiences through his notes.

"There are hundreds of thousands of parents out there just like me," he says. "Parenting sucks a good majority of the time, but we all accept that fact, and move on with our lives. I've also learned NO MATTER WHAT I DO I'm screwing up my kid in some way. So I stopped trying to be perfect."

Giving him more Post-it note material is his nine-month old daughter, Lyla. On a sonogram photo, Illuminati wrote on a Post-it note: “Going to need more Post-its.”

Barcelona defeated Getafe 2-0 at the Copa del Rey, the annual competition for Spanish soccer teams, on Thursday.

The game was extra painful for Getafe player Alexis Ruano, who suffered an injury that left him with broken veins in his testicle.

Ruano was taken away on a stretcher during the game, but his coach gave the agonizing details following the match.

"One of Alexis' testicles was like this," said Getafe coach Luis Garcia, while gesturing the size of a handball with his hands, reports Marca.com.

"He has broken some veins," added Garcia. "It's nothing serious. The swelling has already gone down, he should be fine for Sunday. I was shocked when I went into the dressing room, but it's not serious. I'd never seen anything like it."

Ruano will not likely play in Sunday's game against Real Sociedad, notes Goal.com.

Christian radio host and author Linda Harvey plugged her new book Maybe He’s Not Gay yesterday during an interview with fellow anti-gay Christian radio personality Sandy Rios of the American Family Association.

According to RightWingWatch.org, Harvey told Rios how her book is supposed to explain to young people why homosexuality is morally wrong (audio below).

Harvey also worried that the "yuck factor" that kids should feel about gays was "being taken away."

“What’s happening to children is the whole reason I got into this issue to begin with because they are being manipulated at very impressionable ages,” stated Harvey.

“...The yuck factor is being taken away from our kids and that is a huge preventive issue and a common sense issue on homosexuality where people know, wait I would never do that, yeah that’s a basic instinct that God has given you and it’s the right one,” added Harvey.

Harvey told The Christian Post earlier this month that she pulled Maybe He’s Not Gay from Amazon because of the bad reviews.

"I saw the rotten reviews, a smear campaign by those who had not read the book, and the publisher attempted to get Amazon to pull the ad hominem reviews, but they were not immediately responsive," stated Harvey.

"So, since the book is brand new and I didn't want it to be harmed by this uninformed and vicious campaign stimulated by gay bloggers, I decided to pull the page for now," claimed Harvey.

The Kindle edition of Maybe He’s Not Gay is now being offered on Amazon, but has gotten a mix of praise and scathing reviews.

After defending the mass spying by the National Security Agency (NSA) for six months, President Obama announced his reforms for the NSA in a speech today.

According to Forbes, President Obama stated, "I believe critics are right to point out that that without appropriate safeguards this program could be used to yield more information about our private lives and to open the door to more intrusive bulk collection programs in the future."

As part of his speech, President Obama cited Paul Revere in an apparent effort to justify the US government spying on its own citizens without warrants.

"At the dawn of our Republic, a small, secret surveillance committee borne out of the “The Sons of Liberty” was established in Boston,” said President Obama. “The group’s members included Paul Revere, and at night they would patrol the streets, reporting back any signs that the British were preparing raids against America’s early Patriots.”

Of course, Revere was not reading the email or listening to phone calls of hundreds of millions of Americans on a daily basis, he was spying on British forces.

President Obama then cited America spying on its enemies during the Civil War, World War II, and the Cold War that "has helped secure our country and our freedoms.”

But again, President Obama failed to mention that historic spying was on America's enemies, not on its citizens.

According to Mother Jones, President Obama's actual reform measures did not change any of the actual mass surveillance by the NSA.

Even though Americans will still be spied on, President Obama claimed the NSA would not bug anymore foreign leaders within some unspecified limits.

He also said that a database containing telephone records (obtained by the NSA) could only be checked by the NSA after it got approval from the secret FISA court, which does not answer to the public.

President Obama said a panel of advocates would be created by Congress to address privacy concerns, but it would not have any actual power to regulate the NSA's spying activities.

President Obama took a shot at Edward Snowden and The Guardian, which has carefully redacted names and specific details in its NSA reports: "Moreover, the sensational way in which these disclosures have come out has often shed more heat than light, while revealing methods to our adversaries that could impact our operations in ways that we might not fully understand for years to come."

Sara Ylen, 38, has been sentenced to at least five years in prison after filing a false report of rape just days after pleading no contest in a cancer scam case.

Ylen was accused of fabricating a story about two men attacking her at her Lexington home in 2012. The false police report claimed that a construction company owner and a mental health worker raped her in her home after she drove her children to school. The men attended the same church as her ex-husband. Ylen was also convicted of tampering with evidence by using makeup to create what looked like bruises.

Her sentencing in the false rape report case by St. Clair County Judge Daniel Kelly exceeds guidelines.

Judge Kelly stated it would be a "travesty of justice" to sentence Sara Ylen to any less, reports The Huffington Post.

The strict sentencing comes as a result of Ylen's lack of credibility.

For two years Ylen accepted thousands of dollars from supporters and was treated by a hospice service after claiming to have end-stage cervical cancer that had spread throughout her entire body. After state police found no evidence that confirmed her cancer diagnosis, Ylen pleaded no contest to fraud, reports Boston.com.

"This is a tormented and disturbed woman who will go to extraordinary lengths to wreak havoc upon other individuals, potentially subjecting them to life in prison in order to gain sympathy and notoriety for herself," Judge Kelly said Friday.

Ylen was sentenced to a minimum of two years in prison for the false rape report and a minimum of three years for evidence tampering. Boston.com reports the sentences will run consecutive, and her eventual release will be determined by the state parole board.

Ylen's attorney, David Heyboer, said a year in the local jail would have been enough. Ylen declined to speak in court.

Prosecutor Suzette Samuels views Ylen's sentencing as "justice in its best form."

This is not the first time Ylen has been in the public eye.

In 2003 she agreed to be featured in "Sara's Story," an award-winning series in the Port Huron Times Herald. Ylen shared a story about being raped in daylight in the parking lot of a major retailer in 2001. Her alleged attacker, James Grissom, was sentenced to at least 15 years in prison.

Grissom was released from prison in 2012 after a judge threw out his rape conviction when new evidence surfaced discrediting Ylen.

Ylen's time in court is not over.

On February 19 she will be sentenced in the fake cancer case.
 

Bill Murray talked pickles, golf, and the War on Drugs during a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” on Friday.

When a user asked the 63-year-old actor, "How do you feel about recreational marijuana,” Murray gave a long and thoughtful answer.

“Well that’s a large question, isn’t it?” Murray wrote. “Because you’re talking about recreation, which everyone is in favor of. You are also talking about something that has been illegal for so many years, and marijuana is responsible for such a large part of the prison population, for the crime of self-medication. And it takes millions and billions of dollars by incarcerating people for this crime against oneself as best can be determined.”

“People are realizing that the war on drugs is a failure,” he added, “that the amount of money spent, you could have bought all the drugs with that much money rather than create this army of people and incarcerated people. I think the terror of marijuana was probably overstated. I don’t think people are really concerned about it the way they once were. Now that we have crack and crystal and whatnot, people don’t even think about marijuana anymore, it’s like someone watching too many videogames in comparison. The fact that states are passing laws allowing it means that its threat has been over-exaggerated.”

Colorado and Washington state both recently decriminalized recreational marijuana. Pot shops in Colorado made $1 million in sales the first day they were opened.

Murray said the criminalization of substances like marijuana and alcohol is a relatively recent phenomenon, considering how long they’ve been used as self-medication.

“Psychologists recommend smoking marijuana rather than drinking if you are in a stressful situation. These are ancient remedies, alcohol and smoking, and they only started passing laws against them 100 years ago,” he wrote.

The response to his answer was largely positive.

“What is it like being so awesome?” asked one user.

“Well, nothing prepared me for being this awesome. It's kind of a shock. It's kind of a shock to wake up every morning and be bathed in this purple light,” Murray said.

The state with the worst fiscal condition is New Jersey.

Revenue shortfalls, budget practices, and high levels of debt are causing the state to come in dead last on the list, reports The Blaze.

Other states rounding out the bottom of the list are California, Massachusetts, Illinois, and Connecticut.

On a more positive note, the healthiest states in the report are Alaska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Their success stems from the domestic energy boom each state is experiencing, reports CNBC.

The study was released by The Mercatus Center at George Mason University. One of the center's key backers is the Koch family, and conservative financier Charles Koch is on the center's board of directors.

The author of the study is Stacy Arnett, an analyst at the Government Accountability Office, who worked on the study outside of her GAO work.

New York City's Administation for Children’s Services left 4-year-old Myls Dobson in the custody of his father, Okee Wade, even though he was serving five months in jail.

Dobson was found dead and beaten while in the care of his father’s girlfriend, Kryzie King last week.

Wade, 37, was awarded full custody of Dobson in Aug. 2012, when the boy was three. The next month Wade was arrested on fraud charges.

City officials admitted Friday that the Administration for Children’s Services, which should have monitored the Dobson’s placement for a year, failed to consult with his father’s parole officer, as ordered by a judge.

Despite making nine visits to Wade’s Brooklyn apartment, the ACS says it never realized Wade was in jail. Wade’s girlfriend at the time, Addy Holmes, reportedly told caseworkers that Wade was “at work" when they visited.

“Every time we went to visit, we were told the father was working very long hours, 16 hours a day, and that’s why he wasn’t available,” ACS Commissioner Gladys Carrion said.

Carrion said caseworkers are not required to meet with a parent.

“Should we have done something differently? Yes,” she said.

When Wade was arrested on Dec. 19, he left his son in the care of 27-year-old Kryzie King.

On Jan. 8, Dobson was found dead in a bathtub.

The 4-year-old was beaten, starved, burned and tortured. King was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.

“It’s very, very painful to know that this child went through such agony. That a child was lost,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio, who has launched an investigation into the handling of the boy’s case. He plans to announced a series of reforms to ACS to ensure another child can’t slip through the cracks.

A nun has given birth to a baby boy after being rushed to the hospital. She is claiming she had no idea she was pregnant.

The baby has been named after Pope Francis.

The El Salvadorian nun, 31, whose name has not been made public, was rushed to a hospital in the Italian city of Reiti after complaining of stomach pains, reports the Daily Mail. Doctors soon realized her stomach pains were contractions and she was indeed pregnant and in labor.

The Italian press is reporting she told doctors, "It's not possible, I'm a nun."

The nun lives at the Little Disciples of Jesus convent near Reiti, and other nuns at the convent say they were surprised by the news. They had noticed her gaining weight, but she had kept her private life to herself.

Sister Erminia, the convent's mother superior, said, "It seems she was not able to resist temptation."

Local pastor Don Fabrizio Borrello stated, "I guess she's telling the truth when she says she arrived at the hospital unaware of the pregnancy."

The Telegraph reports that the Catholic Church is embarrassed by the discovery of her pregnancy, and that she will now have to leave her convent since she broke her vow of chastity.

"It would be preferable that she now lead a secular life with her baby, away from religious institutions," said a spokesman for Delio Lucarelli, Bishop of Rieti.

The local diocese has offered the nun assistance until she decides on the future her baby and she will have. The mayor of Reiti has also offered help.
 

Japanese fishermen rounded up more than 250 bottlenose dolphins for a controversial annual slaughter in Taiji Cove.

The dolphins, including one young and extremely rare albino dolphin, will either be killed with a spike or spend the rest of their lives in captivity at aquariums and aquatic parks.

Japan has long-defended the dolphin hunt as a local custom dating back centuries, but the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society have been live-tweeting the brutal process.

The dolphins were driven into the cove by banger boats, which have long poles on the sides. Fishermen bang the poles with hammers, causing pods of dolphins to scatter and flee.

“Desperate dolphins swimming toward the nets, as killers push them away so they cannot escape,” the group wrote Friday.

“Killers and trainers tore half of the pod apart today, and will finish tomorrow,” they tweeted.

"Panicked, frightened, and fatigued, another portion of the bottlenose pod is driven closer to the shore,” it said. "Killers continue to ruthlessly wrap bottlenose dolphins into nets and drag them to the shore for selection.”

Any dolphins that escape the cove are driven back out to sea by the same banger boats. These escapees are usually young dolphins that are unlikely to survive without the guidance of adults.

U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy tweeted, “Deeply concerned by inhumaneness of drive hunt dolphin killing. USG opposes drive hunt fisheries.”

Japanese aren't just killing dolphins en masse, earlier this month a fleet was spotted killing whales in an open sanctuary. Sea Shepherd caught the whalers and the five Japanese vessels fled, abandoning their hunt just as it began. Four minke whales were killed.

"There's three carcasses on the ship, a fourth carcass has been cut up. There's blood all over the place, meat being carted around on this factory ship deck, offal and innards being dumped in the ocean," said Sea Shepherd Australia chairman Bob Brown. "That's just a gruesome, bloody, medieval scene which has no place in this modern world."

Cuban-Venezuelan actress Maria Conchita Alonso faced a backlash from the Latino community after she endorsed a Tea Party immigration hardliner for California governor this month.

Now Alonso has resigned from a production of “The Vagina Monologues” in San Francisco’s Mission District after the producer began taking heat.

“We really cannot have her in the show, unfortunately,” producer Eliana Lopez told KPIX 5.

“Of course she has the right to say whatever she wants. But we’re in the middle of the Mission. Doing what she is doing is against what we believe,” Lopez added.

Alonso, best known for her role in “Moscow on the Hudson” starring Robin Williams, appeared in the ad below with Tea Party Assemblyman Tim Donnely.

“Politicians and big government are killing our prosperity, pushing welfare costs through the roof and driving our schools into the ground,” Donnelly said in the ad. Standing next to his, Alonso jokingly translated in Spanish, “We’re screwed.”

“The Tim Donnelly ad with Maria Conchito Alonso ad is so bad it’s almost laughable,” Café Con Leche, a Latino Republican group, said in a statement. “The ad seems designed to appeal to Hispanic voters, but instead insults the intelligence of many Hispanic voters.”

The group said the ad is an example that “time and time again movie stars often lack common sense.”

Alonso told the newspaper La Opinion that she agrees with Donnelly’s stance on immigration.

“I am among those who think that we should help illegal immigrants who are already in the country and who do not have a criminal background, who contribute and who are good people, but those who are not, we need to take out,” she told La Opinion in an email. “I spoke with Tim about this issue and he agrees with me.”

Critics took issue with the fact that she called undocumented workers “illegal” and that she uses some vulgar language in the ad.

“We don’t act like that. First of all, that is not a typical Latina,” said Jim Salinas, a Mission resident and former president of the San Francisco Latino Democratic Club. “First Amendment rights, we all have the right to say something. But it’s also our right to say we object to that.”

Salinas said Alonso bowed out because she knew there would be boycotts of the production if she stayed.

A 59-year-old British man was arrested after he drunkenly called police 30 times in four hours to boast about his sex life.

At first, police believed the inappropriate calls were just run-of-the-mill pranksters. Then the unidentified Birmingham man proceeded to call back again and again during the early morning hours of Jan. 16.

“We do get inappropriate drunken calls from members of the public but, after stern reminders from a police officer, they tend to quickly stop,” says Inspector Ian Gorman. “However, [the] phone pest ignored our warnings and his calls descended into abuse and inappropriate comments directed at our call handlers.”

Police traced the called to a home in Edgbaston and showed up on the caller's doorstep.

Gorman reminded the public that abusing 999 puts people in real danger.

“Misuse of the 999 system deflects police resources and time away from people in genuine need of assistance or those who are reporting serious crimes," he said.

A 17-year-old Russian national is responsible for developing the malware that stole credit card information from hundreds of millions of Target and Neiman Marcus shoppers, according to security firm IntelCrawler.

The 17-year-old, whose name was not disclosed, sold the malware "Black POS" to cybercriminals throughout Eastern Europe under the username “ree4.”

IntelCrawler CEO Andrew Komarov said the teen did not plan the hack which stole the private data of 110 million Target shoppers last Christmas, but he did benefit from selling the program to identity thieves for $2,000 per download.

BlackPOS has been download at least 60 times since it was created, said Komarov.

IntelCrawler reported the information to U.S. authorities and Visa.

The National Retail Federation has said that the breaches never would have occurred if U.S. credit-card issuers used the newer “chip-and-PIN” method, already in use throughout Europe.

American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa plan to make U.S. retailer accept chip-and-PIN cards by October 2015, Tom’s Guide reported.
